Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: October 2025

Our commitment

Hyphae Network is committed to making our website and learning materials usable by as many people as possible. We design for clarity first (plain language, simple layouts, strong keyboard support) and we continuously improve.

Standard we work toward

We aim to align with WCAG (Web Content Accessiblity Compliance) 2.2 AA in a practical “WCAG-lite” way suited to our small team: clear structure, sufficient contrast, keyboard access, descriptive links, alt text where the platform allows, captions and tagged documents.

What we do (current practices)

  • Use a single H1 per page with logical H2/H3 structure.

  • Maintain consistent navigation and visible keyboard focus.

  • Write descriptive page titles and link text.

  • Provide alt text for informative images where fields exist.

  • Add captions (and short summaries) to new videos.

  • Publish tagged PDFs with document title and language set.

  • Review contrast when brand styles change.

  • Run quick keyboard checks on key pages after updates.

Known limitations (platform or template constraints)

We’re transparent about current gaps and our mitigations:

  • Blog index thumbnails: Squarespace doesn’t provide a manual alt-text field for list/loop thumbnails. We mitigate with clear H1s, descriptive post titles, and meaningful excerpts.

  • “Read More” links on blog cards: The template uses “Read More.” We keep the adjacent title descriptive so the purpose is clear to screen readers.

  • Third-party embeds (Podio forms): We use Podio for intakes and surveys. Labels and focus order are generally good; if you encounter an issue, tell us and we’ll fix or provide an alternate path.

  • Legacy media: Older videos may lack captions. On request we will supply captions or a transcript promptly.

  • Complex documents: Some historic PDFs were not tagged. New PDFs are tagged; older ones will be remediated on request.

Compatibility

Our site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers using keyboard, screen readers, and zoom/reflow. If you use older browsers or highly customised assistive setups, some features may behave differently.

Feedback and requests

Found a problem or need an alternative format? Email: hello@hyphaenetwork.com

Tell us the page or file, what you were trying to do, and your browser or assistive tech if you can. We aim to respond within 2 business days and resolve or provide a workaround as quickly as possible.

Ongoing review

We review accessibility annually against our internal WCAG-lite checklists and update this page when standards change or new features launch. We may update this Statement from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website, with the date of the most recent update clearly shown.

This Accessibility Statement applies to: hyphaenetwork.com public pages and our course pages hosted on Squarespace; Podio forms embedded on those pages.
